The Space
Our pods are built to last with high specification materials as standard. The timber framed shell is fully insulated using premium insulation for superior thermal and acoustic properties. Our windows are high performing double glazed aluminium units within a slimline frame. There are three choices of roof profile; flat, pitched and curved, with a choice of low maintenance roof finishes. All HUSK Pods feature our signature inset porch, which beautifully accentuates the roof profile and provides a sheltered outdoor area.
All HUSK Pods are 3m wide, and 2.5m high (at the eaves for the pitched and curved roof models). The porch overhang surrounding the entrance sits at a depth of 1m.
The Foundation
All HUSK Pods are installed on a ground screw foundation system, which are essentially giant screws drilled into the ground, upon which a timber ring-beam is built to support the structure. We work with an expert subcontractor to test sites for suitability for this system (95% of sites are suitable), and the ground screws are installed in a single day, with no diggers, no concrete, and no waiting time for concrete to set. Ground screws are an excellent solution for the environment, for tricky access, and for sloping sites alike. They are also removable, so you could even take your HUSK Pod with you if you move house!
The Build
HUSK Pods have two build options depending on access.
Option 1 – where access is suitable is a full off-site build followed by transportation to site and installation by crane onto the pre-fitted ground screw foundations. This method is the true ‘Plug and Play’ option; after being bolted down and plugged into the electrical supply, the Pod is completely ready to use in a single day.
Option 2 – for sites with trickier access, is an on-site build. We use the same high quality materials and workmanship and aim to be on site for an average of 3 weeks. We are a friendly bunch and promise to do our best to make an on-site build as stress free as possible for you!

It can be configured in any way to provide an office, a studio, a artists retreat, sleeping accommodation, or a multifunctional space – the choice is yours and the possibilities are endless!
HUSK Pods have a strong aesthetic design, but can still be completely personalised by changing the roof shape, external cladding, internal wall finish, flooring, window colour or configuration, or adding an integrated decking, complementary landscaping, or custom built fitted furniture.
