A contemporary, open-plan, high-performing new build.
HUSK Construction was commissioned to take on the roof package of this highly energy efficient new build. The client project managed the build themselves, and carried out the ICF wall construction before we arrived on site to construct the complex roof structure.
Critical attention to detail was paramount at intricate structural junctions and the many roof windows, in order to meet the client’s brief of achieving regulation-surpassing standards of airtightness to the building envelope of this family home.
This project required a collaborative approach from concept through to execution, in order to achieve the complex and bespoke detailing of the raised seam zinc cladding to the external walls. We worked closely with the zinc installation team to ensure that the roof structure that we handed over to them to dress met the high standards for their metal work.
We also carried out internal framing and custom built a flush fitting door blank which will also be wrapped in zinc, so that the front door blends seamlessly with the wall finish. We expect to be carrying out further internal works in the next few months to help bring this project to completion and are excited to see the finished result.
We couldn’t have built this project without the help of our brilliant team, and of course our specialist suppliers and subcontractors.
A huge thank you is due to:
Our clients Sam and Colette, who built the ICF walls solo as first time self-builders!
